This significant upgrade will place the Finnish maritime education system at the forefront of technological advancement.
Transforming Maritime Training with Cutting-Edge Technology
Wärtsilä’s delivery of advanced simulators to Xamk’s new campus in Kotka, Finland, marks a new era in maritime training. The simulators, featuring the latest Navi-Trainer professional and Techsim software, will equip students with essential skills for modern maritime operations.
Immersive Learning Experience
The facility will boast two large and three medium-sized full-mission navigational bridges with 360° visualisation, offering an immersive training environment. Additionally, the centre will have two engine room simulators, enhancing technical training with innovative touchscreen technology.
Commitment to Maritime Safety and Skills Development
Olli-Pekka Brunila, Director of Education at Xamk, emphasises the simulator’s role in preparing students for complex maritime tasks. The realistic training environment is crucial for practicing critical operations and enhancing vessel safety.
A Hub for Advanced Maritime Training
The Wärtsilä simulator system, one of the most advanced in Europe, will include numerous features like instructor and debriefing rooms, a command centre, and various training applications. This comprehensive setup demonstrates Xamk’s commitment to providing top-tier maritime education.
